BORCHERS DECA COBALT 6 is a clear and violet-blue liquid based on metal salts of neodecanoic acids. With a metal content of Co: 5.80–6.20% ISO 4619, non-volatile content of 29.00–37.00% ISO 3251 (2g, 3h, 105°C), maximum viscosity of 45 mPa.s (20°C) ISO 3219 (A), density of 0.870-0.910 g/cm³ DIN 51757 (20 °C), and Solvent White-spirit containing <1% aromatics, this solution is a versatile catalyst for redox reactions. Even small additions lead to the dissociation of antioxidant hydroperoxide, accompanied by a change in valency from Co2+ to Co3+, resulting in rapid surface drying. BORCHERS DECA COBALT 6 finds applications in solvent-based systems based on alkyds and epoxy esters that dry by oxidation, including unsaturated polyesters.
