Modifier OH are reactive silicone plasticizers for condensation systems containing both cross-linkable (hydroxy-functional) and unreactive chain ends. Modifier OH are therefore particularly suited for producing “non-bleeding” silicone sealants for marble/natural stone applications and for the electronics industry. Gel-like materials can also be produced using Modifier OH. Modifier 700 series are SiH-terminated poly-dimethyl siloxanes which are used as plasticizers in addition-curing silicones. Due to their difunctional structure, these products do not react by crosslinking, but by extending the chains of vinyl-terminated silicone polymers (Polymer VS). Use of the modifiers reduces the crosslinking density and therefore the elastomer hardness.

  • Modifier OH : Silicone formulations using Modifier OH can be produced in the same way as other known polymer/plasticizer mixtures Depending on the percentage of Modifier OH contained in a formulation, the Shore hardness can be adjusted over a wide range. 700 series : use of the modifiers allows obtaining products with a low Shore hardness, even when using low viscosity vinyl polymers Used in formulations that have a low viscosity prior to crosslinking and should have low Shore hardness after crosslinking Formulation of silicone gels is another important modifier application
